    Don’t get me started, Justa.

“Oh, that rosette’s such a nice shade of blue & the candidate’s so well turned out & has a nice smile. I’ll vote for him.” πŸ˜‰

Just getting into Guildhall is bloody tough.

Apparently she took on Chekov at three hours notice. It doesn’t say if she was understudy, but she did say the other actress was much better than her when she came back and she understood why she didn’t get the part. Which kinda implies not understudy.

I can only assume that woman who had 27 contact lenses in her eye had some kind of memory problem going on Emms. It is possible to ‘lose’ a soft lens and think it’s fallen out (I had one stuck under my eyelid which fell out in the middle of a meeting). But 27 is pushing it.

  4. justamentalpatient says :

Anyhoo. The important thing is that she had short fingernails in the clip. Priorities!

A new app for any chundies who fear they might stink but people are too polite to tell them.

Something to cheer everyone up on this grey humid sunday evening

ps apparently a ”plume” is on it’s way from Spain so we may end up drowning in our own sweat over the next few days.

    pps be stoic chundies.

    Evening All

Sleeps, sounds like your night away was just what was needed, so glad you had a lovely time. x

Fingers crossed for your exam results, Clocks, when do you get the results? Which shoulder is it you fractured? Don’t overdo it, housework is overrated imo anyway. πŸ˜‰ x

I’m in Yorkshire this week Paul, it’s always colder there. Winds from Siberia.

But first I have to return an item to Argos tomorrow.

  12. Paul says :

A track for Eva,Wendy,Lagrande and Liss who sadly no longer post here

And on that note i is done here.

    TaTa .

  13. polly says :

The new Doctor Who looks like she is about to read the news. They should have had Alex Kingston for the role.

V good OIF comment that ‘this is very apt with a female dalek for PM’.

  14. Paul says :

ps can you blow some of that chill wind down here Polly.

Help us cut down on the amount of electricity we use on air con.

  15. polly says :

We don’t have anything that fancy oop North Paul. Good job it’s cold really.

  16. JamesFrance says :

Looks great, doesn’t it ? I forgot to close “” or something.

So the link leaked. <= that's ptracically a poem πŸ™‚

  17. JamesFrance says :

Incidentally, Polly, the new doctor will be OK I’m sure. Her hair looks a tad blow-dried and city-telly-soap-opera. Maybe set in a bank.
A bit too spruce, is what I’m getting at. Not very rough around the edges at all. And that, I think, is a bit predictable: they have a woman as the doctor, and so she’s all perfectly manicured and blowdried.

Still, shouldn’t moan. She’ll be great. I’d have preferred that one from … argh, that excellent John the CarrΓ© three series thing they did on the BBC.

Angela something, is it ? The spymaster ? Alright, let’s not mess about: Angela (probably) the spymaster from John le CarrΓ© would be light-years better than this one.

Nevertheless, this one will be great, I’m sure πŸ™‚

  18. JamesFrance says :

*paws for a moment: ‘ows the comment count ? Am I about to be bundled off into the infinite dark void of toptopthepage page turning and all my fine thoughs there lost forever …
    bladerunner ….
    Yes ?
No: That’s enough James. You’ve put up Bladerunner “tears in the rain” monologue by Rutger Hauer about fifteen thousand times.

Ok, ok. No “tears in the rain” monologue then πŸ™‚

Suffice it to say, all that is to underline how careful one has to be not to slip over the page and lose a lot of extremely creative and humourous scribbling there.

  19. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

‘S ok, James, we’ve got ages yet. Not watched Dr Who since Tom Baker but “my” Dr was John Pertwee, who then became Worzel Gummage, that was some regeneration. πŸ˜‰

  20. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Oh, that’s a bit sad, James, mostly fossil fuel and nuclear, still. 😦

  21. JamesFrance says :

Hey Fifty, I’m delighted you looked at the charts πŸ™‚ Much better than the music ones, eh.

And not sad at all! Look down at “averages”. Right now, renewables are on 10% because the sun has set and it’s wind only at the moment. That’s fine.

    Another good thing: Geothermal !
    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/jul/16/groundbreaking-cornwall-geothermal-project-seeks-funds

More good news. So cheer up – even if this “1GW” geothermal plant is only 3 to 4% of UK demand, well, it’s a damn good start if it works. Same as solar, at present: and 6% together.

    And it’s constant: brilliant!

  22. JamesFrance says :

Now I best not talk so much, or that there page will turn, and then where will we be? This is the problem.

  23. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

By “geothermal” do you mean ground source heat pumps, James? Cos I know of a firm around here that is getting funding from all sorts of places to explore/promote those but they’re like 1 pump to each property and v expensive for the end user to invest in at the mo. And yes, good point, it’s dark so no solar. I remember the first time I saw a “modern-day windmill”, as I like to call them, makes them sound more acceptable and I think they are very acceptable. Was 1986 in Milton Keynes’s “Energy World” development just across the road from the Bowl. I thought it was beautiful, so elegant.

And don’t worry, we can say 24 more things – or more than that if we say more than one thing per post – before totpopage happens. πŸ™‚

  24. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

I am wondering about “Other” “other energy”.

I’d hope for a little bit more. πŸ™‚

  27. NuitsdeYoung says :

I have found some interesting clothes-patterns…

  28. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Bottoms, I dozed off for an hour or 2 there. I mean, here. James, have bookmarked the linky and will be monitoring, thank you.

Emms, I was disappointed too until it was pointed out to me that it’s dark right now. πŸ˜‰

And then there’s the power we get from the Continent. What will happen post-Brexit? Them purple zig-zags are keeping my freezer cold. Although I think we have hydro from Cardiff Bay and they’re doing another one in Swansea Bay.
