Got zapped for making a comment about Invasion of the Body Snatchers beneath a fawning Corbyn piece by PT.

  2. polly says :

Probably a good job I got banned Justa, or I’d only be getting banned now.

  3. polly says :

Toynbee’s volte face is hilarious, almost as hilarious as when I used to get called a Corbynista simply because I pointed out he only one because the other candidates were Burnham, Cooper and Kendal.

Glad you got your bee embroidery sent off Inty, Figen Murray has just had a bee tattoo. Sure she’ll appreciate the work that’s gone into your embroidered bee.

He only WON, politics is causing me to lose the ability to type.

  6. justamentalpatient says :

    Oh, I dunno.
It seems to be more a reverse of the Electoral College shite in the US, with the PLP in the role of the College.

He won the popular vote, the EC couldn’t give the leadership to Trump…

  7. polly says :

I was forced to attend an event at the University of Warwick once Justa. Not really an experience I want to repeat TBH.

  8. interiorbc says :

thanks for the link polly…her tattoo looks very much like my x stitch bee, except for the heart…

  9. polly says :

My point was more that the PLP can’t put up decent candidates as leader Justa, something they have in common with the Tories, and indeed the Fib Dems (though at least Farron does a nice line in jokes about Mrs May). Seems only the Scots can come up with decent leaders.

Maybe if the SNP succeed in their independence aims, we can have the border moved down to Watford at the same time.

Warwick Uni is lovely. Great campus and a climbing wall. The climbing wall being the best bit.

Even if it is in Cov. 🙂

  11. polly says :

I love how Martyn Hett ‘fixed’ his tattoo of the word ‘Deirdre’ by having Deirdre Barlow’s face tattooed over it. That’s style.

  12. polly says :

I missed the climbing wall Justa. I was just stranded trying to get back to Coventry station when the bus that was booked to take us back didn’t turn up.

“Maybe if the SNP succeed in their independence aims, we can have the border moved down to Watford at the same time.”

    I’ll drink to that!

  14. justamentalpatient says :

Ah, I get it, poll. Getting to the station from there would be a nightmare.

  15. justamentalpatient says :

He was on that E4 tattoo thing IIRC. Lovely lad.

I got a cab in the end. It was the hottest day of the year as well and I was then trapped on a train with air conditioning that wasn’t working and some woman who kept trying to conduct what she obviously thought was a vital business conversation on a phone that kept losing signal.

My prediction is that those who have fallen in love with Corbyn will rapidly fall out of love with him, within 6 months max, admittedly I’m not a fan, but I think he’s already starting to act like a twat. The adulation is clearly going to his head.

  18. polly says :

They’re certainly starting to turn BTL on the Graun. For a couple of days pro Corbyn comments were the most popular, now realism is setting in.

  19. polly says :

Anyway it’s bedtime, night all. I am exhausted after dentistry before 9 am.

  20. justamentalpatient says :

Those people really get on my tits. Just text that you’ll talk later, FFS!

Cov station can be an ordeal in itself.
I once had a drunk chap (think it was around seven in the morning) accuse me of stealing his last cigarette, which was odd, as I didn’t even smoke back then. Never mind nicking from someone.

But I do attract some strange folk wherever I go.

  21. interiorbc says :

    justa, you’ll like this story:
this morning the darling heard puppies crying up the hill behind their house so she and the bf and another friend went up into the steep hills to look for whatever it was, and they found 5 golden labs – a mum and dad and three pups about 8 weeks old.

They looked like they had been alone for some time, grubby and frightened, so they brought them to their house and fed them cat food as they were so hungry, then she went and bought dog food, and the dogs made themselves at home and went to sleep.
She had to do the right thing and call the SPCA as someone might have lost their dogs, and they came and got them.
She said when they left the dad put his paw on her as if to say thank you.
Hope they weren’t abandoned, and SPCA felt they were indeed pure breds.

Anyway, if no one claims them she will get first option, and they will keep her posted.
She was most unhappy at letting them go, so I kind of hope they aren’t claimed.

Weird eh? How did they get so far into the bush, on a steep hill, unless abandoned?

  22. Bill says :

    Detectorists, BBC 2, now.

  23. justamentalpatient says :

Awww, bless your darling, her fella, and friend!

Poor dogs. Amateur breeder overwhelmed, perhaps? Someone nicked the adults not knowing the mum was preggers? Either way, I hope the humans responsible for their plight are found and punished.

Labby pups are ace, even if the yellow ones have a thing about toilet roll…

  24. interiorbc says :

I just can’t see someone abandoning such lovely dogs, although some people are not kind that way, to be sure.

Perhaps they were camping with their owners and got scared in a storm and ran away? The darling thinks mum had the pups in the bush…and her area is a huge destination spot for camping and summer recreation.
She and her dear man are going hiking after work to see if there are any more pups, three seems like a small litter, but she said that the crows have been going nuts over that area for the past week or so, doesn’t bear thinking about…

Could be someone from somewhere else who lost dogs and gave up hope?
Hoping the SPCA may have some answers, hope she gets to pick a pup for keeps.

  25. interiorbc says :

mummy lab made herself at home on the brand new sofa, lol, she was most chagrined, but she didn’t want to bug her as she was being protective of the pups. The mum had a tag, but she couldn’t get close to read it. Mum was growling and very protective of pups, dad was a very good dog apparently, and mum was much better after the two hour wait for the SPCA…must have been the sleep on the new couch – and food!

She sent me some wonderful pictures of puppies, and mum and dad, beautiful dogs all of them. Puppies were very fat, mum not so much.

  26. justamentalpatient says :

    Sound like pets, then.

Hope all goes well for them. If they have a decent human family, maybe the darling will be thanked with a pup?

Whatever happens, It’s heartening to know that there are good people out there.

  27. interiorbc says :

I do hope they have sad owners who have been looking for them…hope she does get a pup.

  28. justamentalpatient says :

    I hope so. Poor dawgies!

nn, inty and any lurkers. xx

  29. polly says :

Inty, your story sounds like 101 dalmatians, but with labs obvs. Even if the owners don’t turn up, hopefully they’ll find a new home.
