    Nice one, inty.

    Top copper, too!

  2. Tybo says :

Ha, Inty. Can’t realy see what they are going to charge them with. It might be illegal to tow something but they were being towed.

  3. interiorbc says :

    This was my favourite part:

“McEachern says it’s illegal to tow a couch through a drive-thru, but the two men were wearing helmets.”

re the other story, that poor copper looked a bit chilly…

  4. Tybo says :

Actually, it rather surprises me that there is a law against towing couches through drive ins. Do you get a lot of it in Canada?

Got through to my mum. I rang my sister first to check if she had been on the phone when I rang earlier, which she had and then had a brief chat to my mum, who is fine.

Weather not great in the Costa Del Sol today, apparently.

  5. justamentalpatient says :

Good that your mum is OK, tybes.

  6. Tybo says :

Still not socialising though, Justa. That is the pity. She seems very positive but I would be a lot happier if she had someone to hang out with.

It isn’t that I think she is having a terrible time, but I suspect she might be less keen to do it again next year if she is on her own for long periods of time, and I think it would be good for her to dodge the worst of the Hebridean winter.

The good thing is that she switched her mobile on as promised. Just for Sunday evening but that is better than nothing!

  7. justamentalpatient says :

Ah. Not socialising is bad, as we both know.
The phone thing, guessing she’s worried about being frivolous.

Or is she just being a lovely, stubborn mum, maybe?

    Evening All

Back from the pub and Mum’s zizzing but I have Boots’s wax earplugs. 🙂 But only half an hour.

Clocks, so sorry to hear about your MiL. My Mum’s friend, bloke in his late 80s has just had a spell in hospital and Mum’s been doing the odd errand for him (she was 80 herself in Nov but you really wouldn’t think it), well anyway, her friend has in a prominent position – his mantlepiece – a DNR notice. I don’t think the news here of people not being cared for well/bedblocking, etc, is doing the elders any favours. Hope she can get through it.

I do remember, though, when I was ill and Mum was looking after me, there was some TV piece where it showed a v elderly patient being fed from a cup and Mum said “You won’t let that happen to me, will you?”. Not sure what she was asking there but I promised her “No”, anyway. xx

Inty, please be sure it’s only the pain making you pant, if you get breathless at all you must go to hospital, a broken rib can puncture a lung. I had a crush injury something over 10 years ago and got cracked ribs. The bad news is, it was about 5 years before I could confidently cough without the buggers “popping”. Good news is, last 5 years they’ve been fine. xx

Sleeps, Oh No! And yes, best thing. xx

  9. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Tybes, your Mum seems quite a lot like mine so not to socialise wouldn’t do her good, Mum is out 4/5 nights a week. Is there another warm place where she’d still know people?

Justa, when abroad I never turned my mobile phone on, I know we’re supposed to be protected from “roaming charges” now, or at least soon, I’ve stayed away from airports for so long I can’t remember. 😉

  10. justamentalpatient says :

Protected from roaming charges for now, 51.

Brexit will make it better for Brits by taking away such protection.

    That’ll teach Johnny Foreigner!

  11. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

It really wasn’t thought through, was it? xx

  12. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Anyhouses, it is going to be warmer in South Wales on Wednesday than it will be in Barcelona. Anyone fancy a week in Pontypool?

  13. justamentalpatient says :

Is anything Tories start thought through other than “How can I make money out of this?”.

  14. interiorbc says :

well that’s in New Brunswick tybo, meanwhile in TROC there are other weird laws, here are some:

thanks 51, I had an xray ( 4 actually) and the doctor thinks there is some muscle damage also, which would account for the extra pain.

  15. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

I wish it had even been that. Although it was, too, of course. They could have settled it all in the Bullingdon Club with a “who has the biggest willy” contest. When atch they Are the biggest willies.

Going to pay the £3 or whatever it is, bb in a min. x

  16. justamentalpatient says :

    Intercostals? Ouchie, ouchie, ouchie, inty!

Even if you could constantly focus on breathing from your diaphragm, you can’t win.

  17. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

    Aww, that didn’t work. And I paid a whole £3 for it. 😉 x

  18. justamentalpatient says :

Inty, Texan friends have told me about some of their dumb laws. Weird!

  19. justamentalpatient says :

I keep getting the duplicate post message. WP is a funnyosity.

  20. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Ooh, might have been WP, then? Anyhouses it was Paul Simon who I am not entirely sure about. Hero or hypocrite? Obvious Child, was the choon.

  21. justamentalpatient says :

  22. justamentalpatient says :

    Oooh, Capoiera!

  23. justamentalpatient says :

    Or Capoeira, even (try again)

  24. justamentalpatient says :

  25. justamentalpatient says :

Time for muggins to get some kip. I’ll leave you with this one from my yoof and the Eight Legged Groove Machine

  26. fiftyoneandabitmorenow says :

Aye, Boots malleable wax earplugs. Shuts out snoring and shit. Ta for picking that up, Justa.

(What is an Eight Legged Groove Machine?) Luff ya. xx

  27. Paul says :
